As Captain, you configure household routines, approve completed chores with golden wax seals, set allowance exchange rates, and link children's devices with zero privacy friction.
Household Setup
Sign in using a passwordless email magic link or Google Sign-In on your parent device. This creates an encrypted, private Firebase household database silo.
Encrypted Parent PIN
Set a 4-digit PIN when entering Captain's Quarters. Your PIN is encrypted with salted SHA-256 hashing and securely stored with your cloud household to protect duty schedules and allowances.
6-Digit Pairing
In Captain's Quarters, add a crew member and tap Pair Device. Enter the generated 6-digit code on the child's tablet — no child email or password needed!
Daily Landmarks
Structure the day into Morning Anchor Weigh, Galley Tidying, Study Navigation, and Bedtime Harbor. Set recurrence days, XP crystals, and Doubloon rewards.
Wax Seal Review
When children complete duties, review them in real time. Tap Approve to apply the Golden Wax Seal and credit Doubloons, or tap Needs Polish.
Allowances & Favors
Set allowance conversion rates (e.g. 10 coins = $1.00 USD) and log cash payouts, or craft custom Favor Passes like "Choose Movie Night" and "Stay Up 30 Mins Late".

Join with 6-Digit Code
Open ChoreQuest on your tablet or phone, tap Join Crew, and type the 6-digit code from your parent to connect immediately to the family ship.
Pick Your Portrait
Select your favorite pirate character portrait avatar — Captain Girl, Swashbuckler Boy, First Mate, or Navigator — to display on your ship's crew profile.
Conquer Daily Duties
Tap your daily landmark cards (making bed, brushing teeth, homework) to complete duties with pirate audio effects and submit them for review.
Earn Gemma XP
Every completed duty earns magical Gemma XP crystals. Keeping daily streaks powers up your XP to unlock 15 naval ranks all the way to Sovereign Legend!
Collect Doubloons
Approved duties reward you with shiny Gold Doubloons. Watch your coin balance grow in real time with fun coin animations!
Redeem in Bounty Chest
Visit the Bounty Chest to save your Doubloons in the Piggy Vault or spend coins on Favor Passes like choosing dinner pizza or staying up 30 minutes late!
Privacy & Permanent Deletion
Your household data is private, siloed in encrypted Firebase partitions, and never shared with third-party advertisers. You retain complete, permanent control over your data.
Instant & Permanent Family Erasure
Parents can permanently delete their household account at any time. When requested, our system immediately and permanently wipes your parent account, child crew profiles, duty history, Daily Landmarks, and Doubloon balances from our servers.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does real-time synchronization work?
ChoreQuest uses Google Cloud Firestore live snapshot listeners. When a child marks a duty as complete, the parent's device updates instantly in real time. When the parent stamps approval with a wax seal, the child's screen celebrates with gold doubloon sound effects and animations.
Do children need email addresses or accounts?
No. In strict accordance with COPPA and GDPR-K child safety regulations, children never provide email addresses, passwords, or personal identifying information. They connect securely via the parent-generated 6-digit temporary pairing code.
