1. How VaultQuest Works
VaultQuest provides parents with a modern, virtual "Bank of Mom & Dad." Instead of managing messy cash jars or opening real checking accounts with debit cards for young kids, parents track balances and teach financial literacy safely:
- Parent Teller Mode: Instant 1-tap manual deposits, withdrawals, or corrections on any child account.
- Child Requests: Kids can submit spend requests or deposit requests from their own phones or in child mode. Requests wait in the parent approval queue.
- Integer Precision: All values are recorded down to the exact cent ($0.01 = 1 cent) without rounding errors.
2. Goal Envelopes & Parent Lock
Goal Envelopes are virtual allocations of a child's master balance. Re-allocating funds between envelopes changes how much is "Available to Spend" vs. "Saved for Goal" without cluttering statements:
- Free Tier: Families can create up to 2 Goal Envelopes across the household.
- Premium Tier: Unlimited Goal Envelopes with Parent PIN locking. When an envelope is locked, children can save into it freely, but reducing allocations requires parent approval.
3. Interest Engine (Average Daily Balance)
VaultQuest teaches the magic of compound savings by calculating interest on the entire balance using the previous month's Average Daily Balance (ADB).
- Monthly Payout: Credited automatically on the 1st day of every month.
- Parent Audit Card: Parents can view accrued interest month-to-date and tap "Catch Up Missed Periods" at any time.
- Parent Advances: Any day with a negative balance is treated as 0 for interest calculations.
4. ChoreQuest Ecosystem Integration
If your family uses ChoreQuest, the two apps coordinate seamlessly:
- Child profiles and parent logins are shared automatically.
- When a parent approves a Cash Allowance Pass in ChoreQuest, it automatically deposits into the child's VaultQuest account.
- ChoreQuest Fleet Pass subscribers receive automatic cross-app loyalty discounts on VaultQuest premium tiers.
5. Verified Account & Data Deletion
In compliance with Apple App Store Guideline 5.1.1(v) and Google Play account deletion mandates, parents have the right to permanently purge their family account and all associated child data:
Web / Email Request: Email [email protected] with the subject line "VaultQuest Account Deletion Request" from your registered parent email address. All family documents, child ledgers, transaction histories, and push notification tokens are permanently deleted from Firebase within 30 days.
