1. Introduction & Scope
Vellicante Media LLC ("we," "our," or "us") provides VaultQuest (the "App"), a virtual family banking and financial literacy application designed for parents and children ages 5–18. This Privacy Policy outlines our data handling practices under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), GDPR-K (General Data Protection Regulation for Children), and Apple App Store & Google Play Families Developer Policies.
2. Virtual Ledger & Financial Data Scope
VaultQuest is an educational simulation tool. Parents act as the bank and hold all real funds:
- No Real-World Banking Credentials: The App never connects to Plaid, Stripe Financial Connections, Yodlee, or real banks. We never collect bank routing numbers, credit card details, or debit card PINs.
- No KYC or Identity Verification: Children and parents are never subjected to real-world Know-Your-Customer (KYC) identity verification, Social Security number collection, or credit checks.
- Integer Virtual Minor Units: All balances, deposits, withdrawals, and envelope allocations exist purely as virtual integers (cents) in private household partitions.
3. Information We Collect
A. Parent Account Information
To synchronize family balances across household devices, an adult parent creates an anchor account using:
- Email Address: Used for secure passwordless magic-link authentication, transactional receipt notices, and monthly family bank statements if enabled by the parent.
- Parent Security PIN: A salted SHA-256 cryptographic hash of the parent PIN stored to authorize sensitive actions (interest adjustments, withdrawals, parent-locked envelope edits). We never store plaintext PINs.
B. Child Profiles
Parent users create child profiles within their household. Child records contain only:
- A first name or family nickname chosen by the parent.
- An optional non-identifying color accent or avatar identifier.
- Virtual ledger balances, savings envelope targets, and transaction history.
- An optional 4-digit device PIN enabling child mode on shared family devices.
4. Ecosystem Bridge with ChoreQuest
VaultQuest operates as a sister application to ChoreQuest within the Vellicante family ecosystem:
- Shared Household Tenant: Families utilizing both apps share household identity records (
/families/{familyId}) so children do not require redundant onboarding profiles. - Non-Destructive Synchronization: Each app writes strictly with document-level merging. VaultQuest never accesses, stores, or mutates ChoreQuest game quests, stickers, or gems.
- Automated Allowance Transfers: When an allowance reward pass is approved in ChoreQuest, an automated ecosystem transfer deposits the designated amount into the child's VaultQuest virtual ledger.
5. Zero Ads & Third-Party Tracking
VaultQuest strictly adheres to child privacy standards:
- We display zero third-party advertisements.
- We do not collect Advertising Identifiers (Apple IDFA or Google GAID).
- We do not employ cross-app behavioral tracking SDKs or data broker telemetry.
- Technical diagnostics are limited to Google Firebase Crashlytics to monitor application stability and resolve crashes.
6. Data Ownership, Retention & Verified Account Deletion
Parents retain full sovereignty over their family's ledger data. You may request permanent deletion of your household account at any time:
- Inside the App: Open Settings → Account → Delete Account.
- Via Web Support: Visit https://media.vellicante.com/vaultquest/support or email [email protected].
Upon receipt of an account deletion request, all family documents, child accounts, envelope allocations, transaction logs, and push notification tokens are permanently purged from our Firebase partitions within 30 days.
